Living Lab Nairobi is a great example how scientists are an important partner in Wetopia.

Co-DEC is one of the projects “CO-DESIGNING ENERGY COMMUNITIES WITH ENERGY POOR WOMEN IN URBAN AREAS”

One of the areas is Mathare in Nairobi, Kenya which is an informal urban settlement within the capital city environs. The main objective to provide integrated solutions to the household energy challenge in informal urban settlements. Through these engagements, the project partners proposed improved technologies and better policies that contribute further to national energy goals as well as to Sustainable Development Goals on: good health and well-being, gender equality, affordable and clean energy, and sustainable cities and communities.
